tickle, a tasket, one more in the basket
more tickles taking shape on the home front... 1.6667 born every month at this rate which makes the gestation period approximately 18 days. i did that math after waking up at 5 o'clock this morning to say goodbye to my apartment guest whom chicken showered with a million cat hairs as a less than pleasant welcome. with my guest went the pink inclined tickle to her intended home. i think she came out very nicely, even if she is acrylic.

her turning out so well and my awakeness this morning inspired me to finish the wee tickle that i've been putting off finishing.
i might try my hand at making a different kind of doll today... if i can get the intern awake. i may just have to use bribery if i can find the tuna.

arsenic and old acrylic
a new tickle takes shape with the help of acrylic yarn. i hate acrylic yarns, preferring cotton and wool, but as i cannot find the 100% cotton yarn in pink, i have no other choice at this venture. apollo doesn't think i should worry so much about it, as the yarn plays just as well as anything else. this tickle has an intended home, so at least one of them will have found an owner. as for the rest of the tickle gang... they are amusing themselves in an old milk crate, safe from chicken's (apollo) ever growing interest.

i didn't get half as much done today as i had wanted, even if my "to do" list has been getting checked off. after a weekend out of philadelphia to the very green country side broken up by a day at the beach in rehobeth, delaware i should have made a greater attempt at these things i need to get done... such as getting a job. even if it's not for lack of effort on my part, there is always more effort to be made and chins to be kept up. well, one chin. if i have more than one chin, then my worries are far worse off.

case of the mondays, tuesdays, wednesdays, thursdays...
little onion productions has hit an enormous snag -- kitty is willing to do his part (i.e. sleeping all day and begging for cans of tuna), but little onion of little onion can't seem to get things into gear. instead, boss lady sits around thinking about how things haven't been going her way for the past month and while it has seemed like an eternity since graduation and family/friends all packed their bags and said "adios", it has only been one month and the world just might not end for a little longer.

a new tickle found her way into the world tho... meet Mim who can be found and purchased here along with Iko and Quack!

a very happy un-spring break / spring un-break to you
i've been on spring a total of 3 days so far... saturday, sunday, and monday. saturday i was at studio for 9 hours, monday for 9.5 hours, and monday for 6 hours. however, if you count the amount of time i was actually working on things, you can add roughly 2 hours to saturday and sunday and 4.5 hours to monday/tuesday. sigh. i don't call this a break.
and what have i been doing all this time might you wonder? portfolio. apparently i'll be needing that to land myself a decent paying job so that i can begin paying off those pesky school loans that i was so excited to get.
plans for the rest of this week? finish portfolio. update resume. upload resume to monster. write cover letters. buy printer. print resume + letters. send resume + letters. print portfolio. bind portfolio. visit a friend for a day. go to new york with allison for a day. work a day for boss. cast my back in plaster in 4 positions. do laundry. clean apartment. send packages. design thesis. fix thesis colors. update thesis paper. send thesis paper to professor.
is that all? maybe.
in the meantime... the latest tickle who may or may not be done. either way, he already found his way into my portfolio. maybe he'll get a make-over at a later date.

trunks that house
my thesis(i'm an architecture student) relates to luggage. that's all i'll say to explain the arrival of a steamer trunk, circa 1920, to my studio.
new tickle on the way... this one with a slight beak.
and mr. toby tickle wanted to inhabit the trunk so badly that i had to make him a little house.

now if i could just do the work i'm supposed to be doing...

tickles of love
another tickle. this one, accidental. something happened in the middle of creation and this little guy was born hat first! silly how these things happen sometimes, but some of us need hats more than others.
born on valentine's day (a day i would usually not even recognize unless otherwise forced to), there might be something special about this one. no armature wire, this little guy is completely soft and therefore, does just about nothing.
it must have been the curly hair that made me do it... there's no explanation. i was watching harry potter and the order of the pheonix and watching luna lovegood with the phestrals, her bare feet and long curly blonde hair, i thought, "hey, i need curls!" and ten minutes later i had my sponge rollers out and was in full swing of rolling up my brunette locks of what was sure to be pure craziness. and it was!

tickle me tender tickle me sweet
after done, tickle002 decided to have a look at my bathroom for whatever reason, probably wanted to look in the mirror, but couldn't reach. rather silly, she tried to play hide and seek in my medicine cabinet. good thing i look in there, otherwise i would have found a dead tickle in a couple days - she might have been trapped for good.

meet Tickle. after hours of labor that included many a hand cramp, watering eyes, a headache, and many hours of harry potter audiobook, Tickle was born just before 11 o'clock tonight. part kitten, part bunny, and mostly cotton, tickle was made with natural and seabreeze color pure cotton worsted weight yarn. crocheted with a size F needle and embelishments with embroidery floss. inside, she's all odds and ends of random yarn + red armature wire. i made up my own pattern, although i was working off of patterns found here and here.
