augusto sleepy

there never will be enough hours in the day, it seems.  at least, i'm not awake enough to fully take advantage of most of them.  by the time i get to my coffee in the morning, get to work, be at work, have lunch, go back to work, and come home, eat dinner, check e-mail, go for a run, and shower it is about 10pm and i find myself very sleepy.  too sleepy, in fact, to get very much else done.  however, these past couple days i have managed to resume making my previously usual "to do" lists and crossing off the items by the end of the day.

i've been researching the folding styles of letters in centuries past and created my own technique upon not having found the particular style that i was in search for.  i think mine is much better anyhow and have spent some hours in the past days meticulously folding sheets of parchment paper in preparation of letters to be written with my quill and ink.

but otherwise... very sleepy.  too much to do, too warm, too humid.  very sleepy.

a very merry unbirthday to me

allison and i ventured into an antique shop that i've always wanted to go into today... and i discovered a treasure that i couldn't leave behind.  my birthday present to myself:

timbuk2 meets golite

my birthday is in a couple days and someone who i like very much sent me a present, a fact for which i like them all the more (of course).  my chartreuse timbuk2 xl messenger bag meets my avocado golite sml women's pinnacle internal frame pack.  it's exactly the pack i would have chosen if i had bought one for myself.  unfortunately i had to turn 23 to get this.  22 was a good year.

do we wear skirts with this?  probably not.  this also might mean i'm going hiking/camping in the near future?  that might make it a fortune pack (cookie not included).

cuddles a lore

the new species has been identified.  they're cuddles... soft, friendly, and able to be taken to bed and cuddled with, keeping you company in the event any scary monsters find their way out of the closet or from beneath the bed.  fortunately i have the edges of my bed defended by a wall of shoes and my closet is in the hall.  it's always good to have a friend tho.  

this one has an intended home and will be sent as a birthday gift for a five-year old.  the same home that the last tickle, who was later named sophia, went to.

it's so nice to make new friends...

this one has managed to avoid being sat on.  good for him/ her.

a mess on both your houses

i walk around my apartment, meticulously cleaning up after myself after every dirty dish, every scrap of paper that i've scribbled something on, and sweeping the floors every time that chicken jumps onto/ off of something.  last night in an attempt to force myself into a project i've put off -- i made a giant mess of my room.  it's not so giant that 10 minutes couldn't fix, but as my room is rather small and of an extreme small height for the majority, any mess appears giant in comparison.

the attempt was successful, however and there is a new species emerging.  i haven't any idea what it is, but chicken showed his approval when he sat on it.  obviously that means it's comfortable and fun.

tickle, a tasket, one more in the basket

more tickles taking shape on the home front...  1.6667 born every month at this rate which makes the gestation period approximately 18 days.  i did that math after waking up at 5 o'clock this morning to say goodbye to my apartment guest whom chicken showered with a million cat hairs as a less than pleasant welcome.  with my guest went the pink inclined tickle to her intended home.  i think she came out very nicely, even if she is acrylic.

her turning out so well and my awakeness this morning inspired me to finish the wee tickle that i've been putting off finishing.

i might try my hand at making a different kind of doll today... if i can get the intern awake.  i may just have to use bribery if i can find the tuna.
